OppAttune is delighted to announce the Winter Academy 2025: Being Political in Divisive Times, taking place from 26–28 November at the historic Colégio da Trindade, University of Coimbra. The three-day academy brings together practitioners, academics, policymakers, journalists, media experts and civil society leaders from across Europe to explore how democratic engagement can be strengthened in an era of rising polarisation.
The programme features keynote contributions from Catarina Martins (MEP) and Ana Gomes (former MEP), alongside sessions on everyday extremism, living democracy, media and mobilisation, and geopolitical drivers of division. Participants will engage in interactive workshops, policy labs, and a cultural visit to the UNESCO Library, with opportunities to test OppAttune tools such as the Attunement Game.
Designed as a call to action, the Academy supports the translation of OppAttune techniques, findings, measures, methods and concepts into new practice and policy, contributing to ongoing work on the European Democracy Shield.
